  • 13:21:43: Bought by Red Bull and renamed as Red Bull Salzburg and New York Red Bulls respectively. @ronsri @Din35h @amit_das first 3.
  • 13:23:23: With that , the quiz comes to a close. @ritesh_bd is first with 68 points. @Wolverin3 is 2nd with 18 @ashwat is 3rd with 15.
  • 13:25:02: Sending offs and Celebrations to @yesjaypee. Join our FB page here. http://on.fb.me/9hhT8n And contact Lord @sidvee to host a quiz.
  • 13:26:12: There is a cricket quiz by @chuck_gopal coming up. Danke for your involvement. Am signing off. :-)
  • 13:33:59: Hello there everybuddy. This is @chuck_gopal and I've got a little cricket kweezzz lined up for you. Wanna start now or after a teeny break?
  • 13:35:21: Righto then. Looks like people wanna get started now. Couple of warm-up questions. All questions will be text-based. Be good, don't Google
  • 13:36:10: And all questions have different points based on the difficulty. Righto, let's get started. Enough chatter
  • 13:36:36: Warm Up Q1) Who was the last Indian batsman to score a century at Lord's?
  • 13:38:17: That was easy, wasn't it? Answer was Ajit Agarkar. Lots got it right, but the quickest were @ronsri, @kurisad and @kcgadiyar.
  • 13:38:55: For all those who said Kumble - he scored his century at the Oval ;) Righto. Getting started with the real questions now.
  • 13:39:20: Q1) Who has the highest score on first class debut? (3/2/1 points for correct answers)
  • 13:41:47: Answer is Amol Muzamdar, who scored 260. @tintin1107, @MadhusudhananJ and @amit_das get it right 3, 2,1 points
  • 13:42:17: The hint I was going to use was: He was padded up when Sachin and Kambli put on their 664 run stand. You guys didn't need it :) Next q now.
  • 13:43:01: Q2) Which English cricketer played for a (now) EPL club? (3, 2,1 again, easy one)
  • 13:45:01: Answer is Denis Compton, who played for Arsenal. Botham never played for a (now) EPL team. Points: @tintin1107, @siddev18, @kurisad. 3, 2, 1
  • 13:46:02: And those who say Foster for Q1, that was the highest score on TEST debut - 287* against Australia. ODIs was 148 by Des Haynes. I asked FC.
  • 13:47:01: Interesting stuff from @amit_das: amit_das: Seems compton won a 110m hurdles event as well. Right, next q now.
  • 13:47:25: Q3) If Rahul Dravid had scored 5 more runs in the Lord's Test against England in 1996, what first would have been created? (5, 3, 2 points)
  • 13:49:33: Yep, it's 2 debutants scoring a century together. @kcgadiyar, @ronsri and @kurisad got what I was looking for. @Gunmaster_g_9 came close
  • 13:49:51: For no bonus points, can you tell me who DID eventually take the record? :)
  • 13:51:31: This man @tintin1107 is on fire, he gets it - Ali Naqvi and Azhar Mahmood it is. Against the SAfs in 1997. No bonus points :) Next q.
  • 13:52:17: Q4) Slightly esoteric one this. In 1789, a cricket 'tour' was supposed to happen between two nations. Why didn't it? (5, 3, 2)
  • 13:55:05: It was an unofficial cricketers tour from England to France. It was cancelled due to the minor matter of the French Revolution.
  • 13:55:28: Points to @tintin1107, @bongopondit and @siddev18. No points to @milcom_ who says 'The ship didn't start its journey?' :P
  • 13:56:33: This is definitely how NOT to suck up to a Mallu QM @cheese_charmer It was sreesanth in the prev birth. he stole the tickets
  • 13:57:02: Q5) Here's a nice one all you quizzers should know. In 1900, which bowler dismissed WG Grace, taking his only first class wicket? (3,2,1)
  • 14:00:25: Yup, that was easy, no? Arthur Conan Doyle it is. Points to @Gunmaster_G_9, @tintin1107 and @ronsri
  • 14:01:17: Right. Coming up, a question I'm particularly proud of. (5,3,2 pointer)
  • 14:01:26: Q6) In Dec 2001, A denied B a major record in Test cricket. In Jan 2002, B denied A the ODI version of the record. Identify A & B.
  • 14:01:43: Correction : 7, 5, 3 for that one.
  • 14:04:05: Aha, not as easy as the others, was that? ;) I'll give you guys 1 more minute. Then I'll give you a hint to reduce stakes to 5,3,2.
  • 14:05:30: Closing the question. Only 2 got it right
  • 14:05:49: A - Chaminda Vaas, B - Muralitharan. Vaas took the last wicket when Murali was on 9/51, and Murali took 2 wickets when Vaas was on 8/19
  • 14:06:38: The guys who get it are @kcgadiyar, @kurisad and in the nick of time, @sentprab. Well played, guys. Well played.
  • 14:07:45: Q7) Martin Guptill has 7. Fred Titmus had 6. What am I talking about?
  • 14:09:39: And indeed, toes it is. Guptill lost 3 in a forklift accident, Fred Titmus 4 in a boating one.
  • 14:09:57: Points to @kurisad, @ronsri and @kcgadiyar. (5,3,2) by the way. @raytida came close, but he said fingers.
  • 14:11:02: Right, if you jokers are done making Titmus-Nipples jokes, we proceed to Q8
  • 14:11:29: Q8) In 2009, Noor Ali of Afghanistan achieved something that only 3 others have before him - Arthur Morris, N Contractor, Aamer Malik. What?
  • 14:12:28: And @tintin1107 - 'Fingers in toes' would probably have worked, but you were too late, anyway :)
  • 14:13:51: Yeah, many came close but I specifically was looking for 'centuries in each innings of debut FC match'
  • 14:14:05: So points to @tintin1107, @kcgadiyar and @RaisonD. I needed the term 'first class' in the answer.
  • 14:15:04: Okay for one free bonus point - who can tell me who are the 2 cricketers who did so on TEST debut? Only one winner
  • 14:16:53: Yup, Lawrence Rowe and Yasir Hamid it is. One point to @tintin1107. Rowe scored a double ton and a ton, only the time that's ever been done
  • 14:17:46: Sorry. @cornerd - your answer came after @tintin1107. Timeline says so.
  • 14:18:05: 09) Easy one. Connect: Charles Bannerman, Geoffrey Boycott, Adam Gilchrist (3,2,1)
  • 14:20:29: The guys who got it right said First ball faced in Tests, ODIs and T-20s. Would have been happier if you said T20 Internationals. But yup.
  • 14:21:22: Point to @tintin1107, @kurisad and @atlasdanced. 3, 2, 1 to you.
  • 14:22:10: This is probably right but I was looking for first ball faced. Sorry :) RT @ronsri test odi t20 1st runs
  • 14:22:54: Yes, but sadly your grammar ain't ;) #Gestypo #nohardfeelings RT @Din35h Opening batsman's are also correct right ??? :P
  • 14:23:57: Q10) Alec and George Hearne, Eng v SA, 1892. Ed and Dominick Joyce, Eng v Ire, 2006. Connect. (5,3,2)
  • 14:26:57: Some of you are nearly there. So nearly there. Keeping it open for one more minute.
  • 14:29:35: Ok, #QM fail here. I need to check something which I didn't count on. Sorry * sheepish * Give me 2 minutes.
  • 14:33:09: Okay the answer was indeed two brothers playing against each other. What I wanted to check whether it was debut also
  • 14:34:06: @nayakgirin, @jesABjoe and @sentprab get it. Sorry for the confusion. The Joyces infact were on debut.
  • 14:35:22: You're right. I messed that q up slightly :) RT @sentprab @kweezzz south african brother is frank hearne
  • 14:35:46: Apologies for the tardiness with the last q. Shan't be repeated.
    5 to go.
  • 14:36:03: Q11) Easy peasy. Who was the last cricketer to score a double century in his last Test innings?
  • 14:37:55: Gillespie. Yup, that WAS easy. @tintin1107, @atlasdanced and the @azaxacavabanama-lookalike @tifosiguy get it
  • 14:38:51: Incidentally, chaps, SRT has a double century in his last ODI ;)
  • 14:39:41: Q12) (and I'm willing to forgive grammar errors in this one) Ranjitsinjhi, Deodar, Nayadu, Merchant, Hazare are the only cricketers to... ?
  • 14:40:22: Look at his DP ;) RT @tifosiguy: who on earth is that aza and how on earth do u know how I look !
  • 14:41:43: And before you jump - tournaments is not what I'm looking for. Something else. Come on guys, tourneys is too easy ;)
  • 14:42:40: Note: "ONLY" cricketers. Several others have cricket trophies named after them
  • 14:42:53: The correct answer: To be commemmorated on Indian postage stamps.
  • 14:44:21: 3,2,1 points to @RaisonD, @kcgadiyar and @Din35h. No points to @siddec18 for this: customers of Indian Post got to lick their back?
  • 14:45:30: And @din35h pwns the #QM, pointing out a grammatical error. Sigh. Moving on.
  • 14:45:51: Q13) The question I asked Steven and got it featured! When was the last time that whites were worn in an ODI?
  • 14:46:55: @Mishaalhk: Yup - SRT's last ODI was the #epic Gwalior game in which he scored a 200. Hasn't played an ODI since.
  • 14:48:04: Indeed, India v Zimbabwe in 2001. Also known as the series where Zaheer did a Kapil to Olonga and whacked 4 sixes on the trot.
  • 14:48:54: And points to @tintin1107, @kurisad and @jesABjoe
  • 14:49:52: That was a (5,3,2) by the way, and so is the next one, #14

  • 14:53:35: Take a wicket off their first over in ODIs it is.
  • 14:53:58: While I put the points together, who can tell me the last Indian to take a wicket off his first ball in Test and ODI cricket respectively?
  • 14:54:04: Points to @tintin1107, who's been brilliant today, and @atlasdanced and @MadhusudhananJ
  • 14:55:18: This man @tintin1107 is in Kohli-esque form. Nilesh Kulkarni and Sadagoppan Ramesh it is. One point to you
  • 14:56:09: Right. Before the last question, a winner-takes-all bonus question. 10 pointer (Wahoo)
  • 14:57:25: Righto. The bonus question. http://www.kweezzz.com/txt/242
  • 14:58:57: And @milcom_ is penalised 10 points for even THINKING it could be Sreesanth :P
